A morning crash today in Fayette County left four people dead and two in serious condition, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
About 8:46 a.m. today the sheriff’s office learned of a two-vehicle crash on the 27000 block of Harding Road just northeast of Clermont.
Deputies found a 2008 Chevy truck driven by Tony Alan Schlee, 57, of Elgin and a 2004 Toyota van driven by Shariff Hussein Warsame, 28, of Postville.
Warsame’s car was traveling westbound and lost control, hitting Schlee’s vehicle.
Warsame and his three passsengers — Miski Yahye Mohamed, 34, Khadijo Mohamed, 53, and Maryan M. Kulane, 25 — died from their injuries.
Shlee and his passanger, Pamela Schlee, 58, were transported to Palmer Luther Hospital after being removed from the car. They suffered serious injuries, but their conditions are unknown.
Clermont Fire and Ambulance, Postville Ambulance, Tri State Ambulance and the Iowa State Patrol assisted the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
