Somaliland Societies in Europe (SSE) in collaboration with Somaliland Diaspora Agency of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce a one day conference to be held at the Crown Hotel on Tuesday 11^th August 2015.

The theme of the conference is Working in Partnership and Socio-economic Development Processes in Somaliland. We expect that this conference will offer a unique opportunity for involved stakeholders to debate issues affecting Somalilanders in the diaspora with a view to explore their role in the socio-economic development processes in Somaliland. It will also offer and opportunity for raising awareness among the diaspora of the role of the Diaspora Agency in facilitating an active involvement of the diaspora community in local processes.

• Understanding the critical role of the Diaspora in Somaliland development
• Creating awareness of the existence of the Diaspora Agency and its services to the Diaspora Community as its primary target group.
• Diaspora engagement in Somaliland: Opportunities and challenges and creating networking opportunities for both diaspora and local entrepreneurs.
• Doing business in Somaliland: Understanding local businesses and cultural practices.

Several distinguished speakers will deliver keynote speeches on the above topics and in addition the programme will include group discussions. The proceedings of the conference will be published and shared with relevant agencies.
